Spring Pictures

A couple of weeks ago there was a boutique in town offering pictures with real bunnies. I promised Doug I would only spend $50 max. Well, $300, a headache, and a lot of justifications later, I walked out with some really great pictures. My biggest justification was that I did NOT want to do another photo shoot any time soon.

Leah loved the bunny!

So did Kins. I think she looks so
sweet in this one.

This is the best shot I got of all three of them.
Davis had just learned to crawl and we could not,
I repeat, COULD NOT, get him to sit still.

The poor photographer finally
got so tired of chasing him she
stuck him in this basket.

Sweet Leah - Now why won't
she smile at my camera like that!?!

Again I ask the same question!?!

God's Grace

The past few months have been very challenging in our household. The kids have all been sick at varying times with ear aches, RSV, the flu, pneumonia, etc... you name it, we've had it. Twice the Dr. told me to prepare myself that one of the kids would have to be hospitalized. Doug has been called away WAY more than any of us would like and I've been feeling pretty overwhelmed with the challenge of raising 3 little ones - sick little ones. But by God's grace we are making it through this season of our lives and coming out better because of it. We are blessed with health care and each of my children have recovered. Doug is healthy and though he's not here as often as we would like, he is here and a very active part of the kid's lives. As for me, God has been using this time to speak to me, to humble me and to grow me. I gave up complaining for lent and I have been surprised at how hard it's been. After a particularly bad day I checked a blog that I follow and read this:

"Everything about which we are tempted to complain may be the very instrument
whereby the Potter intends to shape His clay into the image of His Son -- a
headache, an insult, a long line at the check-out, someone's rudeness or
failure, misunderstanding, disappointment, interruption. . .

See it as a chance to die, meaning a chance to leave self behind and say "YES"
to the will of God.

Not a morbid martyr complex but a peaceful and happy contentment in the
assurance that goodness and mercy follow all the days of our lives. Wouldn't
our children learn godliness if they saw the example of contentment instead of
complaint? Acceptance instead of rebellion? Peace instead of frustration?"

Elizabeth Elliott - "Keep A Quiet Heart" page 91.

"...Be content with what you have: for He has said, I will never leave you, nor
forsake you." – Hebrews 13:5

WOW! What a great reminder for me to keep my head in the game and stay focused on what is important - HIM! God is good!

These pictures are all out of order but I'm just happy to get them uploaded and didn't think you would mind.

Kinsley in her German attire. She's
been taking a German folk dance
class and was in a parade and got
to perform at a festival over the weekend.

Sisters - On this particular day I was tempted
to close the dryer door and turn it on.
Thankfully I was able to exercise some
self control and just grabbed my camera instead.

Awww...peace and quite

Snow Day

Well I never thought I would be writing a post with this title for as long as we lived in central Texas but here it is. Kinsley woke up very early on this day and was so excited to see the snow. She still remembers that white Christmas we had a couple of years ago when we visited my parents and has been begging me for snow ever since. It ended up being a double bonus because Doug didn't have to go into work until 10 that day so he got to play with us. I loved the snow but am ultimately glad it only lasted a day

It took us literally 30 minutes to get everyone
bundled up. We are so not cut out for cold weather.

Lexi played the hardest out of everyone. She was
exhausted after her friskiness wore off and slept
in this position for most of the day

Sweetheart Dance

As I type this my husband is out on a hot date with a beautiful blond. I even arranged and paid for it and wished them a fare well as they departed. I couldn't be happier for the two of them as they dance the night away at the Daddy Daughter Sweetheart Dance. The theme is "A Knight to Remember" and I'm sure they always will.

2

Leah Grace is now two! I feel like we just brought her home yesterday and here she is walking and talking, she's even potty trained. She loves doll's, dress up, books, and her water table. She thinks her big sister Kinsley is a rock star and wants to do everything she does. Leah is a big time daddy's girl, especially since Davis was born. Doug is loving every moment of it! She is also our little socialite She's never met a stranger and is at ease in most situations. She keeps us on our toes!

Leah always measured in the 80+ percentiles for weight and height but dropped this time to the 25th in height and 40th in weight. The Dr. said she's going to be just like me short and pudgy. The Dr. didn't say pudgy but we know what she meant. I came home and looked at my baby book and we have the exact same stats for this age. Sorry Leah. We thought for sure she had inherited some of her daddy's height. Oh well, she's short and sweet.

For her birthday we threw her a party at a local gymnastics gym. Leah had a blast and it was nice that I didn't have to clean up afterward.

*Sorry some of the pictures are sideways. I couldn't figure out how to flip them. Computer stuff is not exactly my niche.

The birthday girl with her baby Nana
I'm sure she has her finger up because she's
telling me what to do. She developed a two
year old attitude to go along with her new
big girl status.
