Rain!!!!!!

Kinsley was so excited last night when she heard the rumblings of thunder. The poor girl has only experienced rain maybe a handful of times that she can remember. Once she realized what was happening she ran to the closet and asked for her rain jacket. We stood on the porch just enjoying the much needed shower and Kinsley got to try out her rarely used rain jacket.

Cowtown

We were super busy on our latest trip to Fort Worth. In just 3 days we toured the stockyards, celebrated my mom and dad's birthdays, had dinner with friends at Doug's favorite restaurant, and had a yummy lunch with Grandpa Jerry and my family. Time always goes by way too fast when I go home.

Future Olympian

Our little miss Shawn Johnson has been busy perfecting her gymnastic moves this summer. Since Kinsley could walk I've been taking her to the gym at least a couple of times a month for their "playnastics" aka open gym. She loves it there and I always get a good nap on those days so I decided to sign her up for the babynastics class that caters to 18mo to 3 year olds. At first I was a little unsure if gymnastics was our thing. The teacher even politely suggested we work on some of the skills at home. So Doug, who took gymnastics in middle school (heehee) and considers himself quite the expert, took it upon himself to show Kins the ropes. He did a pretty good job and within a couple of weeks she had mastered her forward roll and her log roll. You would be really impressed if you would have seen what these looked like to begin with. We just finished up the season and Kinsley had a blast! The same gym goes to her mother's day out program once a week so she'll get to continue her "training" in the fall.

They Call Me The Fireman

Our friends, Becky, Cole and Landrey, came to visit us a couple of weeks ago. We had a pretty low key weekend, well as low key as you can get with 4 small kids.

Cole is very interested in policemen and firefighters. When Doug got home from work on Friday Cole asked him if he shot anything that day. He also wanted to know where the water hose was on Doug's car. From the mouths of babes:)

On Sunday Doug treated us to a tour of one of the fire stations here in town.
